IHI Prevention (intrahospital infections)

The present findings indicate that it is impossible to create the hospital without a risk, as well as to speak about IHI elimination. Well-organized prevention programs can reduce IHI rate for 1/3. Epidemiological monitoring, which is defined as an organized collection, processing and interpretation of data on the incidence of intrahospital infections, is considered to be the main link in the prevention and suppression of BI. The possibility of using microbiological laboratory for etiologic diagnosis of intrahospital infections and determination of sensitivity and possible resistance to antimicrobial drugs is crucial.

IHI Commission regularly organizes training of hospital staff:

On June 30, 2014 was held education titled ”Recommendations for preventing and infections associated with Clostridium difficile (Prim.dr Rada Mrgud)

On August 28, 2014 was held education titled ”Medical Waste Management”( Prim.dr Rada Mrgud and Sekulović Radislav – head nurse of the hospital)
