Warning due to high temperatures

Due to the extremely high temperatures that are announced, the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of the Republic of Srpska warned citizens that in the future, the less time spend outdoors, especially in the hottest period of the day from 10 to 17 o’clock.
Recommendation for people is to stay indoors and to chill the premises, refrain themselves from physical labor, often shower with lukewarm water and take more fluids.

This refers particularly to chronically ill patients who can have intensified symptoms, such as headaches, general weakness, irritability, fatigue, and sleeping problems.

If there is a need to go outside the house,  the maximum protection from UV radiation is recommended: staying in the shade whenever possible, taking larger amounts of liquids, avoiding alcohol and beverages with lots of caffeine and sugar, smaller, lighter meals during the day and using of  wide, bright clothes made of natural materials, a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses.

The Ministry of Health and Social Welfare warns parents that during this period protect their children who often stay outside. They should not leave them alone in parked cars, not even for a short period of time. They have to comply all recommended measures for protection against the high temperatures.
